On days like today, when it is rainy, I sometimes try to indulge myself with as much knowledge as possible. Today, I opened up our informational piercing books and started taking notes. The books nor my notes will help me with completing the physical piercings, but the knowledge is helpful in many ways. In learning new information I am able to make the client more comfortable and I'm about to give them more knowledge about the healing process that is to come. The more particulars that I know, the more comforted the client is that I comprehend what I'm talking about and that I know how to properly complete the piercing that they have asked me to perform. I am always enthused to be acquiring new facts so that throughout my apprenticeship I can become as knowledgeable as possible. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. Even if I don't already know the answer, I will make sure to find one. So stop in and ask away!

This cold weather is back with a vengeance and the wind is killer. Know where you can hide out from this last bit of winter weather for a couple of hours? Here at Bewitched Tattoo! We would love to see your faces and possibly do some awesome tattoos. May that be something from our flash art wall, our many books of art, or something completely original and off the top of your head, we can do it! Also, don't forget; we are a piercing shop too. Come get your belly button piercings now so that they are healed by the time the summer is in full swing! We would be happy to do them for you. Stay warm out there, and don't forget to say hello!

Ask any tattoo artist that has been in the field for 20 years, about the learning processes, or apprenticeship.  And you will find that although things have changes allot in the past couple hundred years, some things never should.  It takes a long time to learn any skill, let alone the hopes of mastering it.  Leaning every thing you can about your trade is one thing that should never change.   It took me six years of tattooing before I realized how much I did not know.  Tattooing today is done by mostly by three main types of Tattoo machines.   This is one of our artist Toriee building and tuning her first set of coil tattoo machines. Its a dying art, not taken seriously by many tattoo artists.  Maybe because there are high quality crafted tattoo machines, that are being built by artistic and talented man and women, and can be bought ready to run.   And that's Great.  But to me you should know how to build, repair, and tune your own machine.    QUESTION: If you know how and why a tool works, does not it allow you to use it better?   Some times its better to take the long road to your goal, enjoy the view, practice your art, learn from the people you meet, and have a history of knowledge to pull from.

We got surprised by some beautiful weather this weekend. Riders were out blowing the dust of their bikes and smiling like crazy. I'm looking forward to doing some final repairs on mine and getting out there with them. But in the mean time, I am having a blast doing new art on old clients coming into town, getting the summer places open, and dropping their boats in the water. And is your heading down. Stop in and say hi, we would love to show of the changes we made to the studio.

It has been super cold and everyone has had their jackets pulled tight. I can't wait for spring so our clients can let their new art hang out with pride. It seems here at the studio we've been pushed to new levels this year and I am crazy proud of all my artists. Whether you have been tattooed here or not, or never tattooed at all, please stop in, have a look at the studio and watch someone get tattooed. Then talk to one of the artists about the dreams you have for your skin. That's what we're here for. The tattooists in my studio were artists or illustrators before they were trained to tattoo so there's all kinds of creativity going on here and we would love to draw something new for you or help refresh, redesign or reimagine something you already have but want updated.

WOW! Another Valentines day in the books. We had a good time and did some great tattoos. But what I am really looking forward to is St.Patricks day.
Thanks to DecalGirl , we have a surprise lined up that I am super amped up about. Can't say much more about it right now. Stay tuned or stop in, maybe I'll let the secret slip.
